Today is Testing Registration Deadline Day!

Don’t forget to register for testing by Wednesday, March 31st. Registering on time will ensure that you will have a belt at the Awards Ceremony and that your name will not be left off of the Testing Score Sheet.

One-on-One Private Lessons

On Friday morning, April 2nd, we will be conducting private lessons for those students who wish to have a 30 minute One on One class.  Private lessons are great for working on patterns, board breaking, or kicking / punching techniques.  While videotaping the lesson is not allowed, we will permit videotaping the student performing a pattern or board break for their own educational purposes.  This makes a great tool for students trying to improve their taekwondo skills.

There is a sign up sheet in the lobby.  Children will be out of school for Spring Break / Easter holiday.  There are only 4 or 5 slots left available.  Email back to reserve a spot or sign up in the lobby.

Remember that there are NO CLASSES Friday or Saturday (26th and 27th) because of the Regional Tournament in Raleigh!

Remember that the Promotional Testing is NEXT SATURDAY, April 3rd.  Do not forget to sign up for testing and pay your testing fee ($50 Dragons – Sr. Red Belts, $95 Black Belts) by Wednesday!  THERE IS A $10 LATE FEE FOR REGISTERING AFTER WEDNESDAY!!!!!  Too, registering by Wednesday ensures that you will get your new belt at the Awards Ceremony the following Thursday.

Directions to the testing are available at the school.  The demonstration will be performed by 7th Degree Black Belt and my good friend Warren Davis from Greensboro, NC.  (This demo will be following the White – Sr. Blue Belt Juniors test.)

White – Sr. Blue Belts will test at 10:00.  Brown, Red and Black Belt Juniors and all adults will test after the demonstration, which should start between 11:30 and 12:00.

This is the first time we have had all four schools testing together so we are a little unsure of times.  Please be patient and bear with us as we move into a whole new dimension of promotional testing!

Schedule this Saturday, March 13

Remember that the class this Saturday will be in Mooresville at Mr. Dang’s school.  This 10:00 am Juniors and 11:00 am Adults class is open to all who intend to compete in the tournament in Raleigh on the 27th of March.  Directions to Mr. Dang’s school will be available. 

This is a great opportunity to be trained by some of best martial artists in the area.  Mr. Dang, Mr. Martin, Mr. Baxter, Mr. McCoy, and dozens of other instructors will be on hand to help with this TOURNAMENT PREP class.

A note to instructors:  We will be conducting a REGIONAL TESTING PRACTICE and all Sr. Certified, Jr. Certified, and Trainee Instructors will be required to attend.  The Regional Testing Practice will start at 12:00 and we will order pizza in for lunch.

Forms Night was great fun!!!

Forms night was VERY successful.   The children’s classes were especially well attended and many students got one (or even two) stripes for their belts. 

If you need additional help with your pattern ( and we all do from time to time), help is available in the form of a STUDENT MANUAL or a FORMS DVD.
Both would be helpful in trying to remember what we have been working on in class.  Both are available now at Charlotte Taekwondo America but in very LIMITED supply. 

Pick one up at your next class time.  You’ll be very pleased with either purchase!

SATURDAY, 2-13 SPARRING SEMINAR WITH MR. LACY

WE WILL HAVE OUR SPARRING SEMINAR FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS AT 11:00.

Friday and Saturday, February 12 and 13

Don’t forget that testing is tonight. Juniors will start at 6:00 and should be at St. Andrew’s UMC by 5:45 pm.
Adults will start after the demo, which we hope will be at 7:00 pm.
We need black belts who are NOT TESTING to be at testing to help with the sparring!!!
ALSO:
Remember that Mr. Lacy is teaching a sparring seminar Saturday morning at 10:00 for the kids and 11:00 for the adults. Mr. Lacy is driving 190 miles to come here to teach this seminar. Make sure you are able to be here for it! (T-shirts are fine for the sparring seminar.)

Testing Registration Deadline

Don’t forget that you can register for testing any time between now and Wednesday, February 10th. We will not have class Friday, February 12th due to testing!

Saturday morning, February 13th we will have a special seminar taught by 7th degree black belt Mr.Robbie Lacy. The seminar will concentrate on sparring and will be for Orange Belts and above. Juniors will be at 10:00 and adults will be at 11:00.

We would also like to welcome Mr Fredrico Tonetti. Mr. Tonetti is a student of Mr. Lacy’s and will be performing a demonstration at testing. Don’t miss it!!!!

Our upcoming testing scheduled for Saturday, February 13th has been moved to Friday night, February 12th!  We will have a guest instructor from Roanoke, VA coming in to perform a demonstration. 

Saturday morning, we will have a special seminar taught by Mr. Robby Lacy.  Mr. Lacy is a 7th degree black belt and is the highest rank in Taekwondo America.  He has agreed to come in and teach a special class Saturday morning.  Everyone should make an effort to be here for this!
